Web search

FSTA Direct provides a link at the end of records on the search Results page that enables you to specify a search for web pages using one of three web search engines. The availabilty of this link will depend on settings made to your account.

Move your mouse pointer over the button and select one of the offered web search engines

  • Google
  • Google Scholar
  • Yahoo

A new window or browser tab is opened and a search is presented with your chosen search engine using words from the title of the record. As well as locating web pages of related interest, this may also be useful in identifying online resources for the source article when full text links are not available.

(See the article on Free full text linking for more about the orange full text link presented that uses a Google Scholar search to help locate articles from Open Access and other free full text resources.)
