Preferences

In FSTA Direct some aspects of the way search works can be set in Preferences.

Navigation to set Preferences: click on the Set preferences link in the FSTA search status panel.

Detailed instructions for setting preferences follow.

1. To set the default view format for results 
  1. Click on the drop-down menu in the Default view for results pane
  2. Click on the desired format (Title, Bibliographic, or Full)
  3. Click on Apply to set this for the rest of your session, click on Remember to set this preference for this and future sessions

2. To set search-term highlighting on or off

  1. Click on the drop-down menu in the Show highlighting pane
  2. Select Yes or No
  3. Click on Apply to set this for the rest of your session, click on Remember to set this preference for this and future sessions

 3. To set the default number of records shown on a page of results

  1. Click on the drop-down menu in the Records per page pane
  2. Select the desired number (5, 10, 20, 50, 100)
  3. Click on Apply to set this number for the rest of your session, click on Remember to set it for this and future sessions

 4. To set the default landing page after logging in

  1. Click on the drop-down menu in the Default landing pane
  2. Click on the desired location (Easy search, Guided search, Advanced search, Administration)
  3. Click on Apply to set this for the rest of your session, click on Remember to set this it for this and future sessions
