Open URL linking to automated library resources

FSTA Direct provides a link  at the end of records on the search Results page that enables users to access the full text of records via automated library resources using Open URL technology. The availability of this link depends on a setting made in your account; the button that is displayed can be replaced by one used elsewhere in your library to link to these resources.

When you click on this link a window is opened showing full text and other resources that are available to you at your library - links are provided that take you through to authorized full text, if available.

Enabling/disabling the display of this button

  1. Log in to FSTA Direct as a Local Administrator
  2. Click on the Admin link in the dark blue menu bar
  3. You are taken to the Administration area and have landed on the 'My organization' screen
  4. Click on 'Full text linking' towards the bottom of the screen
  5. Select or de-select the 'Show Open URL link' check box
  6. Click 'Apply' to confirm the change

Modifying the displayed Open URL button and its functionality
