Fields and field codes

Each record in the FSTA database comprises a number of fields; search criteria for each field can be assembled using  Advanced search  or by typing them directly in the Customize panel using two-letter codes for each field.

Searches in these fields are not case-sensitive.

The match options that are available depend on the field type , which can be one of four SQL data types:

  • Character (uses = (exact) and LIKE matches)
  • Fulltext (uses CONTAINS)
  • Integer (uses comparison operators for numeric searches)
  • Date (uses comparison and date range operators)

The Table of fields and field codes lists all fields, their codes, type, and provides examples of usage in search queries.
